Luis Barbaglia is a Marine from Argentina.\u00a0His place of residence is Rosario, although he spends a large part of the year at sea aboard the Frigate Libertad, belonging to the Ministry of Defense of the Argentine Republic and at the Marine Infantry School.

Luis Barbaglia is one of the young people who made the last training trip, the 50th in the history of the Libertad Frigate<\/a>, with the aim of completing the study cycle for young Midshipmen, with nautical practice in the arts of the sea, before his graduation and strengthening ties with the countries he visits.
During the itinerary, he visited 11 foreign ports, 6 from America and 5 from Europe: Fortaleza (Brazil), Castries (Saint Lucia), Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Havana (Cuba), Veracruz (Mexico), Baltimore (United States). , Dublin (Ireland), Saint Malo (France), Toulon (France), C\u00e1diz (Spain), and Salvador de Bah\u00eda (Brazil).<\/div><\/div>
Background Information<\/div>
The ARA Frigate \u00abLibertad\u00bb<\/a> is the school ship of the Argentine Navy<\/a> that, in its unfurled sails, carries the message of peace and friendship of a free and sovereign nation to each port it visits. It works as an Argentine ambassador through the seas of the world, representing the traits and customs of a country that, from its foundations, is linked to the sea.

On every training trip it undertakes, it carries along a piece of the homeland. Every time the Argentine pavilion is displayed high, the values of a society that respects its sovereignty deepen.
For almost five months, the Frigate Libertad traveled 22,038 nautical miles on its 50th training trip, which is equivalent to going around the world at the equator. It sailed for 113 days and spent another 35 in ports of 11 cities.<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\n

Durante uno de esos viajes, nuestro buque de guerra atrac\u00f3 en Baltimore (Maryland), donde me reencontr\u00e9 con mi hermana. En Irlanda y M\u00e9xico, nos encontramos con celebraciones incre\u00edbles, desfilando por las calles.<\/p>\n\n

Un viajero se reencuentra con su hermana y se siente como en casa en EE.UU.<\/h2>\n\n

Hab\u00edan pasado dos a\u00f1os y medio desde que vi a mi hermana Victoria, distanciada por la pandemia y las restricciones de COVID-19. Llegu\u00e9 al puerto de Baltimore (Maryland) el 8 de julio, ansioso por conocer un nuevo pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n

Fue el 8 de julio y recuerdo el momento en que lleg\u00e1bamos ansiosos de conocer un nuevo pa\u00eds y en lugar de encontrarme con las actividades ceremoniales y protocolares me recibi\u00f3 ella con una peque\u00f1a bandera Argentina, junto al resto de argentinos residentes que nos esperaban en ese amarradero. <\/p>\n

Al desembarcar el encuentro fue inminente y all\u00ed est\u00e1bamos los dos abraz\u00e1ndonos muy emocionados, sintiendo que el tiempo no hab\u00eda pasado y que por un momento ese abrazo podr\u00eda haber sido en el patio o en la puerta de nuestra casa en Rosario.<\/p>\n\n

Esa semana la compart\u00ed con mi hermana y su esposo, a quien conoc\u00ed ese mismo d\u00eda. Fuimos juntos a un evento con platos tradicionales argentinos y un show de tango que logr\u00f3 conmovernos y detenerme a pensar en lo m\u00e1gico de recorrer el mundo. La m\u00fasica logr\u00f3 emocionarme y los sabores y aromas me llevaron imaginariamente a nuestros or\u00edgenes. <\/p>\n\n

Los tambores suenan y los s\u00edmbolos chocan mientras los marines desfilan por las calles de Irlanda<\/h2>\n\n

En Dublin, Irlanda, la gente nos recibi\u00f3 con gran calidez. Desde el arribo fuimos tratados con mucho amor y no pude evitar sonreir e ilusionarme al conocer Foxford, en el Condado de Mayo, poblado del Almirante Guillermo Brown, nuestro maximo h\u00e9roe naval argentino. <\/p>\n

La comunidad nos recibi\u00f3 con su banda, sus autoridades y organizaciones Brownianas con las que realizamos un peque\u00f1o desfile en sus calles. Los sonidos instrumentales, la elegancia de la formaci\u00f3n, el amor de la gente y los colores de las banderas lograron conmoverme. <\/p>\n\n

Fue muy emocionante caminar con la formaci\u00f3n, al ritmo de vientos, tambores, bombos y platillos en cuanto lugar del mundo nos recibieron. Me sent\u00ed honrado, orgulloso y segu\u00ed mi marcha en una parada inolvidable con amistad y camarader\u00eda en el viejo continente. \n<\/p>\n\n

En M\u00e9xico se re\u00fanen buques de guerra de toda Am\u00e9rica Latina<\/h2>\n\n

En Veracruz, M\u00e9xico, experiment\u00e9 una experiencia \u00fanica cuando participamos de un evento donde las fragatas de las Armadas de diferentes pa\u00edses, concuerdan puertos en com\u00fan alrededor de Latinoam\u00e9rica.\u00a0Ese d\u00eda vi barcos de guerra de M\u00e9xico, Colombia, Uruguay, Brasil y Argentina. <\/p>\n\n

Miles de personas acudieron a ver los barcos que dan la vuelta al mundo y a conocer a los marineros que los tripulan. Se convirti\u00f3 en un gran acontecimiento cultural y tur\u00edstico para M\u00e9xico. Abundaban los colores y las expresiones culturales mientras respiraba el aire salado del oc\u00e9ano. Fue como un sue\u00f1o conocer a gente de tantos or\u00edgenes y patrias.<\/p>\n\n

Una vez m\u00e1s, desfilamos por la calle principal de Veracruz, ataviados con mi uniforme de topman. La admiraci\u00f3n del p\u00fablico crec\u00eda a nuestro alrededor. Los espectadores aplaud\u00edan, otros nos felicitaban y nos ped\u00edan fotos. <\/p>\n\n

M\u00e9xico nos abraz\u00f3 con la calidez de su gente, su cultura y comida \u00fanicas, y las hermosas ceremonias que tuvieron lugar. Mi viaje a 11 puertos de todo el mundo result\u00f3 fascinante.
