Dennis Orellana Manzanares<\/a> is a young Honduran who grew up in San Pedro Sila. He quickly gained acclaim for his skills as an opera singer and has taken on advanced opportunities to perform throughout the world. He is currently in his fourth year at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid, Spain. He studied his third year at the Hochschule der K\u00fcnste in Stuttgart, Germany, through the Erasmus program.
Dennis has participated in several opera performances in Europe. The Parnassus Shop artistic agency manages his career as a professional singer.<\/div><\/div>
Background Information<\/div>
The countertenor<\/a> is the higher tone tenor voice. In particular, it boasts an artificial resonance, with wider and higher notes. The countertenor is sung primarily in head voice with an unaerated falsetto, using the vibration of a part of the vocal folds based on the resonance of the head and not through the chest voice or falsetto. Very few countertenors can reach the soprano <\/a>repertoire.<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\n

Salzburgo, AUSTRIA \u2013 Era un jovencito de 12 a\u00f1os que navegaba por el internet, encontr\u00e9 una pieza de metal sinf\u00f3nico y qued\u00e9 maravillado, a partir de ese momento mi pasi\u00f3n por la m\u00fasica<\/a> despert\u00f3 y decid\u00ed entrar en la Banda Sinf\u00f3nica Juvenil en San Pedro Sula.<\/p>\n\n

Nunca imagin\u00e9 formar parte de una \u00f3pera, interpretar un papel como contratenor en una obra de Mozart, en su ciudad natal Salzburgo, Austria. Pero, aqu\u00ed estoy formando parte del elenco de \u201cLa finta giardiniera\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

Antes de salir al escenario me siento nervioso. Siento que tiemblo, sudo. Pero al poner un pie en las tablas todo fluye. Estando frente al p\u00fablico y compaginando con la orquesta me siento a gusto. <\/p>\n\n

Una joven cantante gana un viaje con todos los gastos pagados para hacer audiciones en conservatorios<\/h2>\n\n

Soy un cantante de opera principiante y creo que por ello trato siempre de estar 100% concentrado, me enfoco en un punto fijo y controlo mi postura para hacer bien todo t\u00e9cnicamente. Escucho mi voz, que se conecta con la orquesta. Disfruto el entorno sonoro puro, sin interferencias electr\u00f3nicas, es la magia de la m\u00fasica cl\u00e1sica. Es arte. <\/p>\n\n

\nCuando veo atr\u00e1s, lo que he avanzado y donde me encuentro ahora, pienso en como todo se aline\u00f3 para m\u00ed. Creo que cuando algo est\u00e1 destinado para tu vida, no hay nada que pueda evitar que eso suceda.<\/p>\n

Comenc\u00e9 a estudiar m\u00fasica a mis 15 a\u00f1os, y el instrumento que tocaba era el tromb\u00f3n. Un d\u00eda de clases, mientras me encontraba en una de las aulas de la escuela cantando con mi voz de contratenor (todav\u00eda no sab\u00eda que ten\u00eda ese registro vocal) como un juego, quer\u00eda experimentar; Se acerc\u00f3 uno de mis maestros y qued\u00f3 sorprendido al ver que era yo el que cantaba. Me dijo que ten\u00eda un tono de voz privilegiado y que si quer\u00eda perfeccionar mi t\u00e9cnica \u00e9l me ayudar\u00eda. \n<\/p>\n\n

A partir de ese momento, comenc\u00e9 a trabajar en mi voz, y cada vez que, hacia una presentaci\u00f3n, los espectadores me hac\u00edan saber que les gustaba mi talento. En una ocasi\u00f3n fui invitado a participar en un evento organizado por la embajada de Espa\u00f1a en Honduras, al finalizar me dijeron que ten\u00edan algo para m\u00ed. Era un boleto de ida y vuelta con gastos pagados para audicionar en algunos conservatorios de m\u00fasica en el pa\u00eds europeo. <\/p>\n\n

No pod\u00eda creer el regalo que me hab\u00edan dado. Yo iba a cumplir con un compromiso, y sal\u00ed con la oportunidad que me cambi\u00f3 la vida. En el 2018 viaj\u00e9 y audicion\u00e9 en dos conservatorios, fui admitido en ambos, pero eleg\u00ed la Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid. <\/p>\n\n

Seguir adelante tras mi paso por Got Talent Espa\u00f1a<\/h2><\/h2>\n\n

Mientras estudiaba en Madrid, en el 2020 la productora del programa Got Talent Espa\u00f1a<\/a>, me invit\u00f3 a participar en el concurso, donde recib\u00ed el pase de oro<\/a> que me colocaba como semifinalista. Mientras transcurr\u00eda el concurso, dud\u00e9 si en realidad era eso lo que quer\u00eda para mi carrera. No pude seguir en el show debido a que tuve sintomatolog\u00eda de COVID 19 y tanto los organizadores como yo, decidimos no continuar con mi participaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n

Aunque fue una gran oportunidad, supe que mi carrera no era por ese camino. \nEn el 2021, una agencia art\u00edstica que maneja la carrera de varios cantantes de \u00f3pera, se interes\u00f3 en m\u00ed. Me ofrecieron varios papeles, en los cuales iba siendo evaluado, hasta que me pidieron que trabajara con ellos de forma exclusiva. Poco a poco he ido participando en m\u00e1s obras, e incluso fui solista en Alemania con una orquesta muy consolidada, la cual fue una experiencia inolvidable, que me estimul\u00f3 mucho. <\/p>\n

Siento que voy por buen camino, aunque no todos los papeles que he tenido son principales, me han ayudado a impulsar mi carrera. Mi gratitud es grande para todos los que creyeron en mi desde que estaba en Honduras, mis amigos y familia que se me emocionaban al escucharme cantar el Ave Mar\u00eda. Recordar su apoyo me hace peque\u00f1o el coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n
