Graham Hicks

Graham Hicks is an award-winning journalist and commentator based in the Western Canadian city of Edmonton, in the province of Alberta. He enjoyed a 30-year journalism career with the Edmonton Sun daily newspaper, from 1981 to 2020. He was best known for his town-crier-style, five-times-a-week column Hicks on Six, specializing in local, national and international politics, entertainment, social and sports commentary. In the community, Graham was the founder and spokesperson for many charitable organizations and events, to the extent that, on the occasion of his retirement from the Edmonton Sun, the city's then-Mayor Steve Mandel declared November 8, 2010 to be "Graham Hicks Day" in Edmonton. Since retiring from the daily media world, he has co-authored three books and still writes commentary in his own HicksBiz.com blog. Mostly, however, he helps his wife Maria with the baby-sitting and entertaining of five pre-school grandchildren ranging in age from five to two months.
