Overall and from a tactical perspective, the Trump team ran an excellent, brilliantly successful campaign. Now, Canada’s federal Conservative party leader, a young, respected, right-of-centre politician by the name of Pierre Poilievre, traverses the country. He sells his party’s stance on jobs, jobs, jobs while leaving the “holier than thou” machinations to the Liberal Party.
CANADA ꟷ Following the recent U.S. election, Canadian Democrats known as the Canadian Liberal Party seem poised to implode the same way as Kamala Harris’ Democrats. This fact appears stunningly obvious to everyone but Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his coterie of advisors. Obsessed with gender and identity politics, an assumption of moral superiority, and fixated on the environment, they careen down the same slope as American democrats.

With the 2024 U.S. presidential election determined, Americans overwhelmingly threw their lot in with Donald Trump and his Maga Republicans. Winning the presidency and a Republican majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives proved a major triumph for the red. This despite many Americans and politicians regarding Donald Trump as Darth Vadar, Dracula, Hitler, and Stalin all rolled into one.
Now, they cry out, “What happened?” The answer is quite simple. The Trump ultra-haters became so consumed by their dislike for him, they failed to see the forest for the trees. Four facts contributed to the Democrats’ loss.
1. Silly democrats: Joe Biden stubbornly stepped down too late. Bowing out of the campaign sooner may have given the Democratic National Convention time for a proper primary and the chance to review and pivot on their social-justice, left-wing tilt.
2. Silly, silly democrats: The democrats’ righteousness over gender and identity politics, abortion, and the environment blinded them to the insignificance of these issues to working-class Americans. With their votes, Americans revealed they want a strong economy, jobs, safety, and education. They agreed with Trump over the illegal immigration crisis, and they put their faith in Trump’s desire to repatriate American know-how and manufacturing. The left-leaning Democrats did not realize they completely abandoned their traditional working-class support. It came as no surprise Trump garnered a much bigger share of all ages of female voters, the Latino vote, and more black voters than expected. The Democrats arrogantly assumed minorities would stay in their tent due to party loyalty.
3. Savy Republicans: With the Democrats in disarray as Biden clung to power, the Republicans emerged as a united party under Trump and his politics. While some Republican Trump-haters spoke out, many within the party learned to keep their mouths shut. Meanwhile, political analysts remained impressed by the Republican campaign.
4. Smart, smart Trump: Trump seems far smarter than anyone gives him credit for. He somehow managed to soften his image enough to attract a crucial minority of voters into his camp. His interview with popular American podcaster Joe Rogan proved a turning point. Trump came across as a nice, easy-going grandfather.

A huge Conservative victory in the next federal election seems virtually guaranteed, especially if current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau remains stubborn like Biden, refusing to step down. For Americans and the world, we await the return of four more years of Trump-a-nomics and bombastic language.
The question remains, will his opponents concede he may do good in the might USA? As for Canada, the likelihood of a more conservative, Trump-lite government looms large.
