On this 75th anniversary of India’s National Republic Day, the 2024 event embraced the theme of female empowerment and celebrated strides made toward gender inclusivity in India’s armed forces.

NEW DELHI, India ꟷ Today’s photo gallery comes from Priyanka Chandani. Priyanka is a journalist and Foreign Correspondent for Orato World Media, with degrees in journalism, communications, and English literature. This gallery features a major celebration in India on the 75th National Republic Day on January 26, 2024. January 26, 1950 marked the day India’s Constitution went into full effect. That day saw the Purna Swaraj resolution, which called for India’s freedom from the British. On this 75th anniversary, a major parade weaved from Kartavya Path to the Indian Gate. The 2024 event featured French President Emmanuel Macron as the foreign dignitary. Past dignitaries included Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and American President Barack Obama.

In a historic moment, an all-women contingent of the Delhi Police Force made its debut. The women marched along the Kartavya Path in India’s 2024 National Republic Day parade. Shweta K. Sugathan, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, led this pioneering display.

Led by Major Sarabjeet Singh, a unit from the Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army paraded down the Kartavya Path. This regiment originating in 1846 from the remnants of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s ‘Sher-e-Punjab’ army.

The 75th National Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi saw a formidable display of Indian defense capabilities. Participants stood adorned with indigenous regalia and history that resonated with themes of women empowerment and self-reliance.

This display showcases port-led development and features women who work with and for the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.

Women Dare Devils dazzled spectators with their motorcycle stunts, breaking stereotypes in India and redefining thrill. These women riders appeared unstoppable.

From the history of the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, this float beautifully portrayed images of Ram Lalla (Lord Ram. It encapsulated cultural heritage while offering a visual journey through the state’s pace of progress.
